About Sugata

I was born in Hooghly in eastern India and grew up in Allahabad in northern India. I have lived in several Indian cities like Kolkata, Chennai and Hyderabad. It was in January 2006 that I bought my first (and only, till date) digital camera and have been clicking away ever since.
Currently I am a Ph.D. student living in Newark, NJ, USA. I like to carry my Sony CyberShot DSC W5 along with me wherever I go. I'm strictly an amateur and take photos purely for the enjoyment I get out of it. My father is the best amateur photographer I've ever seen, and my ultimate aim is to take better photos than him. Almost all my photos are taken with my Sony. I also use my father's old Pentax MX 35mm SLR and any other camera that I can lay my hands on.
