I have been away from posting for some time, partly because I was busy with the festival of Durga Puja, and partly because there was trouble with the Internet connection. The festivities are over now, but I will continue my story about this great festival for the next few posts.
Sandhya Aarati, or evening-worship, is an important part of the worship of goddess Durga. Here you can see the priest performing this worship. The smoke is from burning incense and dry coconut fibers.
Thanks a lot to everyone who commented on my photos, or even stopped by for a visit. The comments have been pouring in pretty fast and I'm finding it increasingly difficult to reply to each individually. I'd rather spend that time in viewing others' photos and commenting there. But I do read each comment individually, and if you ask me something specific, I'll answer that.
